Position Summary:
Unity to Serve International is seeking a skilled and dedicated Program Manager to lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of multiple programs designed to empower underserved communities. This full-time position is critical to ensuring programs achieve their goals effectively, efficiently, and with high impact. The Program Manager will supervise program staff, manage budgets, liaise with partners and funders, and ensure compliance with organizational and funding requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funder expectations.
  • Lead, supervise, and support program staff, including Program Officers, Coordinators, and Associates.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to funding guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners, government agencies, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate program planning, including setting objectives, timelines, and performance indicators.
  • Monitor program performance, collect data, and prepare reports for internal use and external funders.
  • Ensure programs comply with all legal, ethical, and organizational policies, including California labor laws and nonprofit standards.
  • Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings, trainings, and capacity-building activities.
  • Represent Unity to Serve at community meetings, coalitions, and conferences as needed.
  • Support fundraising efforts by contributing to grant proposals and donor reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of program management experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations, preferably working with immigrant, refugee, or underserved populations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and meet funder requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and program management software.
  • Knowledge of California labor laws and nonprofit compliance standards is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred (especially Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Arabic, or Farsi).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred; occasional local travel required.

Compensation:
$70,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location:
Unity to Serve International – Based in California. Primarily in-person with occasional flexibility depending on program needs.
