Position Summary:
Unity to Serve International is hiring a proactive Admin & HR Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations and support human resources functions. This role is critical in creating a smooth, efficient, and supportive work environment. The coordinator will ensure administrative processes run effectively while supporting employee lifecycle activities and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and nonprofit standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain administrative systems and office supplies to support smooth office operations.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and maintain confidential HR files and records.
  • Assist with payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance tasks.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal meetings and assist with board meeting logistics.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with California labor laws and nonprofit regulations.
  • Support recruitment efforts and assist with maintaining employee engagement and retention activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Help facilitate training and development initiatives.
  • Perform other administrative and HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in administrative and/or HR roles, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with California labor laws and nonprofit compliance standards is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems is desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Compensation:

Location:
Based in California. Primarily in-person work with potential flexibility depending on organizational needs.
